Now I know what to do with the big container of grape tomatoes in the fridge .....I'm thinking of making this basically one pan dinner (other than cooking the pasta) from Smitten Kitchen that I saw on instagram. Very few ingredients, pasta, tomatoes, garlic, panko, parm ... smittenkitchen.com/2007/02/fusilli-with-baked-tomato-sauce/

And I've roasted the strawberries for the ice cream recipe you posted, applecrisp, so that is on the docket soon: Roasted Strawberry Ice Cream.
The weather here has been dismal and I haven't been feeling good, but I feel like I turned a corner over the weekend (fingers crossed). Three nice days IN A ROW! It's the cure for all that ails ya.
I saw the fusilli this morning and thought it looked good, too. You'll have to report back if you make it, applecrisp.

applecrisp-That pasta does look good. She always has such interesting and tasty recipes.
Erin-you must be near me as our weather has been disgusting too except the last 3 days. I took advantage of the last beautiful day today and went to our local town greenway this morning for a long walk. Supposed to rain tonight though so I guess the humidity will rear it's ugly head again. UGH!
I am trying to use up all my leftovers since DH and I are going out of town next weekend for the week of the 4th. We are taking a road trip back to where it all began!! We met in Pittsburgh and our first child was born there. We have not been back for 23 years! So we are going to pack up the car and go reminiscing a bit! Anyway, I did too good a job of using up everything in the fridge....I used the last egg today. Right after I used it, I got an order for some bakery (my candy/bakery side business) for the end of this week. Guess I have to go buy some more eggs tomorrow. But at least it is an item that will be fine for a week in the fridge while we are gone!!

Karen -- Have a great time away. What a fun road trip! What kind of candy/baking to you typically sell and what are the most popular items? I'm guessing it depends on the season. I think you once mentioned that the almond roca really started it all?
erin -- Enjoy the food! Sounds so good. How did you like the lo mein and ice cream? I've been in the mood to make some kind of asian noodle dish for a change since even I might be getting a little 'beaned out. I didn't make the SK recipe yet, I ended up making a dish that used up some slaw mix (basically cook down slaw in taco seasoning, add to burrito, tossed in some leftover chicken, add some salsa, cheese.., bake).
Same here for the weather, we've had some great days but also lots of rain and dreary weather.
Have a great rest of the week!

The lo mein was quite good and leftovers are good cold, too. I didn't follow the prep instructions (drain that mass of vegetables really well after boiling? Yeah, right.): just sauteed the ingredients as a regular stir-fry (with a little steaming time for the cabbage and carrots), including the chicken. Used ramen noodles. I've been eating it all week and it is still good!

I cut some grape tomatoes and added them to sauteed spinach.
Grilled tuna last night. Night before, I made a goat indian curry. YUM!

A friend is coming over for lunch and I am making this old favorite. I use dried cranberries instead of (the dreaded) raisins and usually make/buy candied pecans.
This will be the first time I am pulling my grill out this summer!

My latest project is a venison meatloaf. Last week someone gave me various cuts of venison, which I have eaten, but never cooked. Last night I made this venison meatloaff But we were starving and I started it too late so we ended up having omelets instead. We'll be having it tonight. I have some steaks, more ground venison, and some stew meat. Also a wild turkey breast from my hunter friend. What are your fav wild game recipes?

I cut some grape tomatoes and added them to sauteed spinach. That is a total winner! It's great served with steak. and it makes an awesome pasta sauce with a squirt of lemon.

I truly think that such social networks like Instagram and for example even TikTok can be a digital revolution for food recipes. Cause settle this, TikTok videos are pretty short but long enough for showing all the details of each recipe, and instead of 1000 words, user can simply say to see it here and give a URL to the videoclip from TikTok, isn't it great?
