Any foodie or food goals for the new year?
It could be finally making beef bourguignon, using a certain kitchen tool/gadget more, eating more of this and less of that or ... ?
Here's a few. I think I might just pick a few and find ways to incorporate them into my every day. I'm thinking the top two are menu planning (since I can incorporate so many others at the same time) and cut down the sugar.
-- be more consistent with menu planning (even a rough idea) and food shop less (I've been making too many quick stops to the supermarket since ... I use the excuse that since I don't have a car, that I should pick something up since, well I'm right there). And remember to think about what I already have on hand so less mindless shopping. This will save time and money too.
-- I find it really helpful to a do some meal prep for the week but I don't do it that often. I am going to try a "goal" and just pick one or two things to meal prep on Sunday -- could be just washing some veggies, making some quinoa for lunches etc. I thought if I just aimed for at least 1 or 2 I would be more likely to do it since not overwhelming.
- drink more water,
- eat less sugar (aka chocolate -- be better with that stress eating!)
- continue to make good clean food choices (of course don't have to be totally perfect, but be smart about it), and aim for even better!
- add more variety to my meals (especially my breakfasts since there really is no real variety unless you count adding chopped or whole walnuts to my yogurt). It is basically cheerios or greek yog/fruit. Snooze...
- maybe add some meat or fish (even a small part of overall meal) at least every few months. Only if I feel like having it/in the mood for something.
- I might try honing down and just using one blog or cookbook for a few weeks/months and try one new recipe a week or so. Would save time and just more focused.
- there is a slew of things that I've never cooked before (and I'm talking pretty common things) --- but nothing really standing out right now.
How about you?
Happy new year!!
