Still not feeling that great, as you can see from this list! I hope to be back on my game this month. But I still managed to win 2nd prize at the fair for Chocolate Espresso Cupcakes, which wasn't a new recipe. The zucchini cake might be a fair contender next year.
8/8 Blueberry Upside-Down Cake (Saveur 7/15) Excellent cake—light. Brown sugar topping is crunchy—because of frozen blueberries?
8/4 Chocolate Sour Cream Zucchini Cake (Epicurious/The Harvest Baker) An all-around good cake. Zucchini disappears. 9x13 for 45 min, used glaze from cupcakes (6oz chocolate, ¼ c corn syrup, 4 oz butter, 1 tsp vanilla).
8/28 Creamy Cucumber Salad with Carrot, Cilantro, and Cumin (CC J&J/12) Good—used only 1 scant tsp cumin and no cilantro. Just enough different. Liked crunch of unsalted cuke.
8/26 Flourless Rhubarb-Almond Upside-Down Cake (MWL 3&4/17) Some egg white settled in the fruit and solidified. Cake was texture of a grain pudding, not cakey at all, even after 45 minutes in oven.
Congratulations on your fair win, Erin!! But mostly....feel better SOON!!
I have not been keeping track of new recipes lately (bad me). I'll try better this month. Right now I have a lot of tomatoes coming in the garden so that has been a common theme. Today I made C.L's Tomato Gratin lasagna for DH and I later this week. I will report back later. I am also going to make a tomato bean herby ragu for me this week since I am a bean freak!! All fresh tomatoes and herbs from the garden so I hope it will be good.

erin --- Thx for starting. And a big congrats to winning 2nd prize for those cupcakes. I've never been to fair, it sounds fun! I'm going to try the Creamy Cucumber Salad with Carrot, Cilantro, and Cumin. I love all those flavors. Hope you're feeling better!!
Karen -- That lasagna sounds good. Oh how I wish I had a garden (this year I didn't even buy a basil plant from TJ's).
I didn't keep track, but here's a few..... Blender Banana Bread -- not as good as my fav banana breads, but I do like that it uses all oats and no flour. And it used up some browning bananas so a total win.
Erin - Congrats on the Fair win and I hope you continue to feel better!
I had two back to back vacations with an External Audit smooshed in the middle at work so August kinda passed in a blur. I'm still trying to catch up at home and work.
The August Issue of Cooking Light really grabbed me, then September's issue was inspiring. I would have had one more recipe, a Thai Chicken pizza that used leftover shredded chicken from the French Roast Chicken, but I ran out of energy and time.

Great list Varaile. After checking out your blog, the CL grilled chicken and orzo salad has just been added to my plan -- sounds great and I have most of the ingredients on hand already. Thx for posting.
