Today as I was drying the bowl cover one of the locking clips broke off. I had no luck finding a replacement online. Looks like my food processor (KitchenAid 5 cup) is no longer made. I hate that that means buying a whole new appliance.
Can't find any 5 cup machines. I don't need anything larger than 7 cup.
Any recommendations? I've had the KA for 13 years. Mainly use it for salsa, remoulade, pureeing tomatoes, grating cheese, and occasionally making pesto. I use a knife or mandoline for cutting/slicing veggies.

Cuisinart and KA have tied many of the America's Test Kitchen reviews. Not sure what size they are testing but I've had a Cuisinart for decades and like it, if that helps. Unless you start looking at the European brands, aren't these the only 2 as options?

I have a Breville and love it. I have had Kitchenaid and Cuisinart in the past and I far prefer the Breville. I have the largest size they make, but I know they do make some smaller sizes. If I had to pick between KA vs. Cuisinart, I always preferred KA over the latter.

I have a Cuisinart that works well for my needs.
As for your part, have you checked Amazon? I needed a part for a blender recently and found it there.

I have good luck finding older appliance parts on Ebay.
I was recently given a Ninja prep system which come with a small 2-cup food processor-like bowl. I have been really impressed with it so far and have wondered if they make a bigger, more conventional food processor. It works like a dream and is SO much easier to use than my big ole Kitchenaid processor that weighs a million pounds.

Looked extensively online for the part. Called KA today and heard what I already knew ... discontinued. Target had the 7 cup with free shipping, so I ordered one.
Checked Breville, but their smallest is 12 cup. Do love my Breville toaster oven.
